Creating Individualized Learning/Studying Plans

We design personalized, metacognition-based learning plans based on the client's strengths and interests, thus helping to establish a growth mindset. The unique approach to our learning plan design is that the client has a strong input in the creation of their learning plan. We also work with clients to enhance their executive functioning skills, particularly their organizational and time management skills. Establishing an individualized learning/study plan requires an introductory learning assessment and at least 2 follow-up sessions (either in-person session or virtual session) until the clients have successfully proven their proficiency in the subject matter of interest.

Test Coaching

Test coaching helps one to understand the construct of their exam and create a detailed study plan focused on mastering the information being tested. We review test-taking strategies and work on everything from how to read and process exam questions to where to sit to ensure the best focus. We also explore any outside factors that can influence a client's chances of success during exams.

Student Academic Success Workshops

These workshops focus on teaching clients how to improve or maintain high academic performance by incorporating metacognition-based learning strategies and enhancing executive functioning skills (e.g. time management) while helping clients to develop a growth mindset. Also, we conduct workshops training client tutors on how to tutor effectively. Typical workshops range from 60 to 90 minutes. Any academic success workshop and can be delivered either in-person or virtually. Faculty and Staff Training Workshops

These workshops focus on training faculty on how to engage clients during lectures by incorporating various metacognition-based teaching strategies and/or techniques. Another workshop offered is how to advise and/or mentor failing or unmotivated clients by using aspects of "Appreciative Advising," which incorporates reflective exercises. During faculty workshops, one will also learn how to help clients design individualized, effective study plans. Typical workshops range from 90 to 120 minutes. STEM Tutoring

High impact sessions are designed to help clients solve problems and learn how to independently look up materials needed when studying. Clients will also be taught how to organize their notes and materials to aid in their study. We offer tutoring in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, math up to Calculus, General Physics, General Biology, Microbiology, and any general introductory science course.

Science Demonstration Design and Presentation

We conduct entertaining and engaging science demonstrations that illustrate basic science principles learned in various science courses. We also create low-cost, but stimulating science demonstrations using common household materials that parents, teachers, and curious clients can perform in the comfort of their own home. Demos are usually performed at school science nights, birthday parties, or community events. Personal Statement and Application Consultation Services

We help guide the client as they fill out applications for college, graduate, or professional school and help them to avoid many of the common pitfalls that impact one's changes of getting accepted. We use our own step-by-step writing process to help clients write a personal statement that truly stands out and highlights the client's unique gifts and talents. We can also help clients with organizing and submitting scholarship applications as well as any financial aid forms needed for school. The sessions can done either in-person or virtually.

College Student Disability Consultation Services

Transiting from high school to college or undergraduate to graduate and/or professional school is challenging; this process is even more daunting if one has a learning or physical disability. We help clients and their parent(s) navigate their way through this process to ensure the client knows about all resources and services available to them as well as their rights and the laws that protect them. In addition, we help clients to become strong self-advocates, which is necessary to succeed in college. We also explain the difference between K-12 rights and resources and the rights and resources applicable to college campuses. These sessions are done with clients and/or parents both in-person and virtually. As one that has dyslexia, the founder of CLASSS, LLC is very knowledgeable in this area and also extremely passionate about helping all clients to succeed.
